Haven't forgotten, I just fly out to linuxconf.au tomorrow morning and
got buried with last minute stuff. (Sorry for the delay.)

I'll try to merge this on the plane. I also need to set up a test
environment that can handle the old stuff, but I expect a chroot that
doesn't have /dev/kmsg should work for that. :)
