Yes, on my desktop at home I can reliably make the patching fail with
patch-2.7.1 and make it work with patch-2.6.1. I've tested with a
previous aboriginal release (1.2.3 I think) which extracts and builds
fine, it is only the 1.2.4.1 release that shows the problem.
